The Columbus-Lowndes Public Library is comprised of a headquarters in Columbus with three branches located in Artesia, Caledonia and Crawford. Library services include an automated circulation system; online public access catalog; public internet access; extensive book, audio, video and periodical collections; interlibrary loan; reference department offering ready reference and periodical collections; electronic state-of-the-art archival facility combined with a local history and genealogy department serving genealogical researchers from every state; children’s department featuring year-round storyhours for preschoolers and babies; a summer library program, and other seasonal programs; handicapped accessibility and materials such as large print and talking books; county-wide extension service; literary programs; meeting and conference room facilities; art and collectible displays, and an active Friends of the Library support group.
